Why?! Conscious Consumerism!?

Each dollar, pound, lira, peso, yen…. you spend is A VOTE for the company you give it to.

YOU CAN HELP CREATE A MORE PEACEFUL AND SUSTAINABLE WORLD (and live a better life doing it darn it!).

EDUCATE YOURSELF AND GO VOTE FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN!

While completing my Masters Degree via a United Nations program in International Peace and Development I realized that the majority of conflicts around the world were resource based.  Even when they looked like something else on the surface (i.e. an “Ethnic” conflict), often the underlying causes were rooted in economics.

With this as a my premise I wrote a thesis on “Conscious Consumerism: Shaping Globalization Through the Empowerment of the People.”  Sure enough, after a great deal of research (even though it seems common sense could dictate this outcome) I found that indeed, it turns out you get the kind of world you support!

It’s pretty simple, if you buy sustainable products (this means they are produced in both a socially and environmentally conscious manner) from companies acting responsibly (meaning they take care of their employees, the resources they use, their manufacturing and transportation process, are conscious of their community and surrounding environment, etc. etc.) then YOU WILL HELP CREATE A MORE PEACEFUL AND SUSTAINABLE WORLD.
